Springfield Farm offers an unique AgriTourist destination in the South Glengarry/SDG Region. By showcasing its century old barn buildings, picturesque family farm, Heritage Organic Market Garden produce, maple syrup, honey, visitors will come to anticipate and return to Springfield Farm knowing they are welcome and part of a community.
Springfield Farm is proud to have an Environmental Farm Plan, participate in the Managed Forest Programme and to have received a SARPAL (species at risk) Grant from OMAFRA. We work hard to stay on Mother Nature’s good side and delight in hosting guests who want to visit and learn about the forest, meadows and relax to the sounds of birds, and the Beaudette River. We are proud to be in partnership with St. Lawrence College Cornwall for the Green Waste programme utilizing their compost waste for our market gardens.
Apple Hill is a hamlet in the township of North Glengarry, but just to add a bit of country confusion, Springfield Farm is in the South Glengarry part of Apple Hill. That simply means we have the best of both worlds!
As the harvest begins we will update the list of organic produce available at our market and for purchase on-line. We welcome visitors to come and see and even work alongside us during this time. We have a new barn which will open as soon as possible as the Gundpowder Cafe. There are paths following the Beaudette River to our majestic forest and in winter there’s plenty of time to don snowshoes or cross-country skis to get out and enjoy nature.
Call ahead to see what we are doing and what’s harvested and ready for purchase – Wood, Maple Syrup, Market Garden produce and Honey.
