From our early harvest in August of red Chieftain potatoes, to the Onaway and delicate Austrian Crescent and French Fingerlings of the fall, our potatoes are definitely growing in acreage at Springfield Farm. Hailing back to our Irish and Scottish heritage, and first domesticated in the Andes Mountains of South America, what is known as a poor man’s dinner, brings a wealth of varieties, tastes and colours making it the King of the crops on our farm. Please specify if you would like Chieftain potatoes as the stock is limited.
We could tell you the many favourite ways of cooking it in our family, but a simple boiled potato and butter can’t be beat! Sold in 3lb bag size. Contact us for larger quantities.
